The Longitude Prize Committee and Nesta would like to invite you to hear about the £10m Longitude Prize and how you could get involved.

The Longitude Prize is a historic challenge with a £10 million prize fund that will be awarded to a competitor who can develop a point-of-care test that will identify when antibiotics are needed and, if they are, which ones to use.

The event will be hosted by Steve Cross, UCL’s Head of Public Engagement and 2010 Joshua Phillips Award winner for Innovation in Science Engagement. Our speakers and panellists include:

· Lord Martin Rees, Astronomer Royal and Longitude Prize Committee Chair

· Imran Khan, CEO British Science Association, Longitude Prize Committee member

· Professor Mike Sharland, Professor of Paediatric Infectious Diseases, Lead Consultant Paediatrician, St George's University, Longitude Prize Advisory Panel member

· Melissa Sterry, Renowned Futurist

· Professor Chris Toumazou, Regius Professor of Engineering at Imperial College and the Founder, Chairman / CEO of Toumaz Technology and DNA Electronics.

It will be a fantastic opportunity to discuss how to solve one of today’s greatest scientific and technological challenges with some of the Britain’s greatest entrepreneurial and scientific minds.
